Small Business Hazardous Waste Disposal

The Public Works Department offers assistance to local businesses that qualify as a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG). To qualify, your business must be located in Thousand Oaks and generate less than 220 pounds (approximately 27 gallons) of hazardous waste per month, or a maximum of 2.2 pounds of acutely hazardous waste per month.

NOTE: Businesses that generate more than these amounts are required to use a licensed hazardous waste hauler to manifest and transport their waste.

Service Fees and Incentives (up to $500 in savings) - Rates vary depending on the type and amount of waste.  Twice each calendar year, businesses can receive 50% off disposal costs (up to $250.00 each time).  Some limitations apply.  A rate sheet and cost estimate will be provided prior to your appointment.  Payment must be made on day of disposal.

Drop-Off Days - Our appointment-based program is affordable, convenient, safe, and legal.  The 2012 Business Waste Program Schedule is:

 April 6, 2012  August 3, 2012  (No December Event)

Pick-Up Program - Businesses can schedule appointments for their hazardous waste to be picked up for an additional fee of $50.00.
